The Carolina Hurricanes acquired defenseman Maxime Lajoie from the Ottawa Senators for center Clark Bishop.
What does it give the Carolina Hurricanes
This is a swap of AHL talent, though both Lajoie and Bishop have NHL experience. The Hurricanes could place Lajoie on their taxi squad for 2020-21, but he is unlikely to see regular minutes for the 'Canes.
What does it give the Ottawa Senators
In Bishop, the Senators land an industrious forward with limited upside. He too might become part of Ottawa's taxi squad this season, but is not expected to become a regular role player for the Sens.
