Owns great shutdown ability, thanks largely to great size, excellent mobility and sound positioning. Can log huge minutes and is a factor on both special teams. Will at times play a reckless game, which can lead to mistakes. His offensive game is not first-rate, so his bread will be earned because of his two-way play in the NHL. Serious injuries have cast doubt on his playing future.
