The Oakland Athletics acquired pitcher Andrew Chafin from the Chicago Cubs for outfielder Greg Deichmann and pitcher Daniel Palencia.

What does it give the Oakland Athletics
In lefty Chafin, the A's get a solid bullpen arm who should provide quality in the middle innings. He may also be used as a situational left-hander or setup man. He is a good addition.

What does it give the Chicago Cubs
In Deichmann, the Cubs get a solid outfield prospect who struggled earlier in his career but seems to have gotten on track lately. Meanwhile, Palencia is a long-range starting pitching prospect who will need time.

Fantasy impact
Chafin is not going to provide a lot of saves but he could see more hold chances with Oakland. Still, there should be better options available in many leagues. Neither Deichmann nor Palencia need to be picked up in keeper formats at this time.
