Banda, who turns 28 next month, was once upon a time a big-time pitching prospect. However, injuries have stagnated his progress to a large degree. Still, the Mets believe he can help them at some point in 2021. He can start or relieve, which adds value.
What does it give the San Francisco Giants
The Giants gave up on Banda after he sported a 6.86 goals-against average in 10 appearances (5 starts) this season. Toffey is not much of a prospect, but perhaps he can add some infield depth to San Francisco.
