TAPIA TRADED TO KC
The Kansas City Royals acquired pitcher Domingo Tapia from the Seattle Mariners for cash.
What does it give the Kansas City Royals
For the Royals, this deal is an attempt to make a team strength even stronger. Tapia will start out at Triple-A Omaha but he might join Kansas City at some point this season. KC has a strong bullpen in 2021 but Tapia might be able to carve out a role at some point.
What does it give the Seattle Mariners
The Mariners had recently designated Tapia for assignment, so they did well to get back some cash in return for his services. Seattle's struggles this season are mostly offensive, so they are not likely to miss Tapia going forward.
Fantasy impact
There is nothing to see here. Tapia will serve a middle relief role if/when he is summoned by KC. He does not need to be on a roster in virtually all league formats.
