PHILLIES FINALIZE CHATHAM TRADE

The Philadelphia Phillies acquired infielder C.J. Chatham from the Boston Red Sox for a player to be named later or cash considerations.

What does it give the Philadelphia Phillies
New Phillies president of baseball operations Dave Dombrowski is familiar with Chatham from his time with the Red Sox, so it makes sense that the two are reunited in Philadelphia. Look for Chatham to compete for a utility infielder role with the Phils this season.

What does it give the Boston Red Sox
Apparently, GM Brian O'Halloran was not as big of a Chatham fan as Dombowski, so he decided to move him out in exchange for a future asset. Aside from second base, the Red Sox seem to be set in the infield heading into the 2021 campaign.

Fantasy impact
Chatham is not a lock to break camp with the Phillies this year, so he should not be drafted in virtually all league formats. Keep an eye on his progress, though.
