Altavilla signed a minor-league contract with the Royals on Wednesday, Jon Heyman of the New York Post reports.
Scouting Report
Owns a great fastball and complements it with a solid breaking ball. Together, they give him the ability to strike batters out regularly in MLB. His changeup lacks polish, which is the main reason why he is more reliever than starter in Major League Baseball. Lacks ideal size, as well.
Long Range Potential: Solid right-hander with a little upside.
