Heaney allowed three earned runs on three hits and two walks while striking out five batters over five innings during Friday's 8-3 loss to Atlanta. He did not factor into the decision.
Heaney escaped with a no-decision in Saturday's 9-2 loss to the Astros, allowing two runs on four hits and four walks over 3.2 innings. He struck out only one.
Owns a good fastball and very good slider, which can be his go-to pitch when he's on. Doesn't walk a lot of batters, but is also capable of piling up good strikeout totals. At 6-2, 195 pounds, he will need to fill out his frame to gain more stamina. Also, he needs a little more work with his changeup. Injuries are also an issue for him.
Long Range Potential: Talented left-hander, when healthy.
