Was a savvy veteran. Handled the puck well and settled things down in the defensive zone. Possessed sound leadership qualities, too. Had a very good shot from the point. Lacked top-level skating ability. Didn't always play with enough aggression in the defensive zone, which hurt his overall effectivness. Lost his shooting prowess late in his career.
