Was creative with the puck and had both playmaking and finishing skills. Was also sound defensively. Could play either wing position. Owned a strong lower base. Struggled in physical contests, since he was somewhat soft. At times he played too much of a peripheral game in the NHL. Lacked consistency. Injuries were an issue.
