Owned good wheels and moved the puck well. Had good size and was usually a sound positional blueliner in the defensive zone. Was a heady player. Could log big minutes at lower levels. Did not play a physical style. Despite good tools, he did not possess the acumen for producing quality offensive numbers in the NHL, which limited his impact.
