Had good size and great work ethic. Created space for himself and teammates thanks to his bulk and strength; he was effective along the wall. Was tenacious on the forecheck and an excellent team player, overall. Could score goals in bunches. Was also a sound penalty-killing option but was a bit too inconsistent in the scoring department (and did not shoot the puck nearly enough to produce better numbers). Was not very fast on the ice, though he made up for it with hockey sense and savvy. Lacked consistency in terms of his physical play.
