Popugaev announced his retirement from professional hockey Monday, Corey Masisak of The Athletic reports.
Scouting Report
Owns tremendous size and range from the wing, plus a great skill set. Has excellent playmaking skills from the wing and is at his best when playing a classic Russian style from his off-wing (left). Is somewhat inconsistent in terms of utilizing his mammoth frame to win puck battles and maintain possession of the puck. Also needs to work on his play whenever he does not have the puck.
Long Range Potential: Huge, highly-skilled winger with upside.
