Massive for a center, he had a great base and a powerful push. Used his big hands exceptionally well off the snap. Never stopped playing and was a gritty battler who would keep looking for someone to block or hit until the whistle. Was also very smart. Despite good hustle, he lumbered and could be very slow when pulling out on run plays; he was generally lacking in speed when in space. Sometimes he got caught up in lateral moves and lost his balance. Was not very fluid or athletic; he got by on guile, hustle and power. Unfortunately, his NFL career was cut short due to illness (Guillain-Barre Syndrome).

Long Range Potential: Excellent center (when healthy).
