A very good technician and a very good athlete, he was blessed with a powerful leg and excellent accuracy. Excelled at giving his teams superb field position. Did not always get his punts off quickly and his placement could be spotty. Generated a few too many touchbacks by not working the sidelines. His NFL career was lengthy, so he is a study in longevity.
