Was a good athlete with natural fluidity and hands (he also played baseball earlier in his formative years). Lacked the top-end wheels to stretch a National Football League defense, so he leaned fairly heavily on his body control, size and instincts at the highest level. Lacked consistency from year to year. Was inconsistent as a blocker, as well.
