Brings rare leadership skills and clutch ability to the field, plus uncommon athleticism for his size. A smashmouth player who runs the ball like a power back and has great instincts for finding openings. Has a deceptive lefty delivery and throws well on the run. Does not turn the ball over much. Tends to run first, and he depends on his athleticism more than the play calling. Played baseball for a while, instead of sticking it out as a quarterback. Was always more built for the tight end position than quarterback, so his late-career transition makes sense.
