The Red Sox placed Giolito (elbow) on the 60-day injured list Sunday, Mac Cerullo of the Boston Herald reports.
Giolito underwent an internal brace procedure Tuesday to repair the UCL in his right elbow, Chris Cotillo of The Springfield Republican reports.
Has awesome size (6-6, 255 pounds) and mound presence. Can blow plenty of batters away with his tremendous fastball, or fool them with his outstanding curve. Already endured a lot of injury issues in the early stages of his development, so there is concern about his long-term health and ability to annually log 200 innings.
Long Range Potential: Excellent power right-hander with big upside.
