Sanchez signed a minor-league contract with the Mets on Tuesday that includes an invitation to spring training, Tim Britton of The Athletic reports.
Sanchez was designated for assignment by the Mets on Saturday, Mike Puma of the New York Post reports.
Is a tremendous fielder, capable of playing all over the infield (though he is at his best at the keystone position). Can also steal bases and provide consistent contact at the plate. Does not generate much power with his swing, which limits his overall impact as an everyday big leaguer. Needs to get on base with more regularity, especially via the free pass.
Long Range Potential: Utility infielder.
