Stewart signed a minor-league contract with the Padres on Thursday which includes an invitation to spring training.
Scouting Report
Has a little pop in his bat. Will also draw walks. Can be counted on in spurts to play the starter's role behind the plate. Displays durability and leadership. Is a below-average hitter overall, which hurts his playing time at the big-league level. Might play more if he cut down on his number of strikeouts in MLB.
Long Range Potential: Journeyman catcher.
