Loewen signed a minor league deal with the Rangers on Monday, Jeff Wilson of the Fort Worth Star-Telegram reports.
Scouting Report
Has a huge frame and can generate plenty of strikeouts in the minor leagues. Can be especially difficult to hit against for left-handed batters. Lost several years of his pitching development when he tried to convert to the outfield (which failed). Still has control issues as a result.
Long Range Potential: Versatile, journeyman athlete.
