Pelham signed a minor-league contract Thursday with the Padres.
Scouting Report
Owns a mammoth frame and big-time fastball, plus he creates major deception with his delivery (making him extremely difficult to hit against). Throw in some wildness, and batters are always uncomfortable facing him. He is not always effectively wild, so walks are a real problem for him. Repeating his delivery is at the root of his issues, so it may be difficult to develop consistency over the long haul. Is still somewhat raw and unrefined.
Long Range Potential: Massive, power left-hander with upside.
