VanMeter signed a minor-league contract with the Yankees on Wednesday, Ken Rosenthal of The Athletic reports.

Can play all over the infield and outfield, so his versatility adds a ton of value to his overall profile for MLB. Can hit for average at lower levels, and he also has decent power. Runs well and is a good athlete, overall. His left-handed bat profiles best coming off the bench or as a utility man at the highest level.
