Scouting Report
Assets: Could come off the bench with aplomb. Worked the count for good pitches to hit, drew walks and could rack up doubles with a very smooth line-drive swing. Played a highly efficient and consistent first base.
Flaws: Was too streaky. Struggled against left-handed pitching. Lost both bat and foot speed with age. No longer a threat to bat for a high average, he struck out too much for a hitter without huge home-run power.
Career Potential: Solid first baseman.
